The Thornhill Safari Lodge, is located within the Greater Kruger National Park ecosystem, 40km away from Orpen Gate, and presents some magnificent views of the Drakensberg Escarpment in South Africa. The Thornhill lodge offers an affordable luxurious safari getaway and  creates an African bush atmosphere.

The Thornhill Safari Lodge with it's stay-at-home, self-indulged, cosy and comfortable rooms offers guests an affordable hide-away in the bushveld. The Lodge has 13 comfortable, authentic thatch-roof chalets with en-suite facilities, decorated with vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture to create a stylish bush atmosphere. Rooms are equipped with celling fans, mosquito nets to mention and wooden decks overlooking the pool area and surrounding bushveld. Honeymoon Suites are available with corner bath tubs and airconditioning.

Facilities:
Optional excursions can be booked at the reception, open from 07h00 until late. The Thornhill Safari Lodge has a lounge area for guests to relax and unwind or play board games inbetween activities. The bar is open daily, serving soft drinks, local & international beers, South African wines and other alcholic beverages and liqueurs. A communual swimming pool is located near guest chalets. Traditional bushveld cuisine is served in an open air boma around the warm and charming fire.

Activities:
While located in the private Thornybush nature reserve, the Thornhill Safari Lodge is part of the natural surrounds and habitat. Guest can enjoy guided walking trails with a local guide throughout the conservancy. Big 5 game  drives are conducted daily in either the Kruger or Thornybush Reserves. Game drives within the private game reserve are permitted to drive off-road to improve the chance of spotting some illusive animals. Optional excursions can be booked directly at the lodge - these include a full day Kruger game drive,  full day Panoramic Route tour (including Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Potholes, God's Window amd Pilgrim's Rest), as well as cheetah breeding project visits or Shangaan Tribal Village experiences.
