Vukani, tour reviewHi Gert

The holiday was great. Mr Geanie Mahomed and his team did a great job to guide us throughout the tour, we were made aware in advance about what to expect. We felt completely safe.

Thank you
Vukani

Dear Business Partner, "Egypt News"

Today, we are sharing different cheerful news: After February 11 we have a new era in Egypt where enthusiasm, mood of work, and freedom of expression is spreading among all of us Egyptians.
“Tahrir” Square, in the centre of Cairo, where all demonstrations started and stayed for 20 days; is now slowly going back to normal life. Demonstrators who were angry and shouting until Friday have been cleaning the streets, removing the banners since Saturday. Some
others are freely expressing their minds through peaceful protests. Traffic police are now substituting riots – Cars and buses are crossing back the street with the usual hustle and bustle of Cairo traffic.
The Archaeological sites are almost all open to tourists, except one or two sites that will be opened during next week.
We expect by early next week that all aspects of our daily life in Egypt will be back to normal.
It’s amazing, within three weeks, a country of 85 M. inhabitants has totally changed, positively. What a great Country, great people and great civilization.
We welcome our international clients back to Egypt and we encourage our local clients to explore a new Egypt.

Sincere regards.

Hi Annelie

Tourist who booked a Egypt special with Getaway Africa.comHappy New Year to you as well. I hope you had a good festive season.

Our trip was very good. We enjoyed it a lot. All of our tour guides and handlers were very well organised and made our tour great. Thank you for organising it. Everything was great. I have included some photos, they are of the more interesting things we saw in Egypt.

Dear Gerdie,

A quick response, copied to the others in case they have something to add. We have well over 600 photos, but maybe someone will pick out one or two!

I thought the your Egypt staff did an excellent job as your local agent. There were no slip ups in the arrangements. We were met everywhere and taken where we needed to be. We were impressed to be given guides and vehicles as a party of four, and the guides were well qualified and helpful. They prepared well and were able to make helpful recommendations when we asked for help in our planning.

The whole tourist industry in Egypt seems to be efficient and well organised.

The hotels were adequate, with some oddities that we forgave.

I was looking forward to the train trip, but although it did give a good different perspective on Egypt, the train itself was not great - lots of jerking that kept us awake during the night.

We enjoyed the boat cruise, with fascinating visits to temples and burial sites. The Red Sea is very geared towards large tourists who seem to prefer doing as little as possible, but we enjoyed a trip into the desert and some good snorkelling. We enjoyed Cairo too, and found that the Metro is easy to use, with English signs where needed. This is not something the guides encouraged, so is something you can pass on to future visitors. It seems to be a very safe place (tourist police everywhere) with friendly people. Visitors should not be put off by the Alexandria bombing. The driving (worse than in Johannesburg) is a far greater hazard, although we did not see serious accidents.

The weather was pleasantly cool, which helped with Nile visits but limited the swimming at Hurghada. We were somewhere north of Luxor for what was apparently the first hail storm in living memory - our guide thought it must be snow.

Egypt is a good destination.

Kind regards,
Jonathan

Dear Gert

Pepukai Chikukwa on there Egypt vacation from South Africa. We had a very good time, and everything was according to the schedule. The Egypt staff were excellent and professional, and always on time for all the transfers etc. The cruise was a wonderful experience, with all the tours and the hotel in Cairo was excellent (except for a minor mishap on check-out dates, but this was resolved)

The tipping practice though was something else, we had to get accustomed to that.

Thanks for making this a memorable holiday for us, my husband and I really enjoyed it (including our 8 month old daughter)

Find attached a few pictures

Best,
Pepukai

Hi Gert,

We had a fantastic holiday, the whole family enjoyed it very much and we were very lucky to be in a small group of people so had ample opportunity to take as long as we liked at the various sites and of course ask all the questions we had.

Everything was extremely well organized, we did a few additional tours like the Citadel and Grand Bazaar in Cairo on the last day we were there, this gave us the opportunity to use the afternoon before the very late flight back to SA. Also the Grand Bazaar is the place to buy everything cheap.

I will send you some photos from home over the Christmas period as I have not even had a chance to download them yet.

Thanks so much for a great vacation

Roland Ellis
