The Addo National Reserve is located in the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape Province with turn-of from the N2 highway , on a part also known as the Garden Route of South Africa. Here, the evenings are punctuated by the strident howl of the black-backed jackal, and the francolin's call heralds each new dawn.
A night drive in the Addo National Elephant Park is a must. That air of excited expectation as guest climb into the game viewing vehicles, and when the spotlight picks up the eyes of animals ahead, never sure quite what to expect.

Although the Addo National Reserve has been used as a natural stopover point for travelers touring the Garden Route and Eastern coastline of the country, it would be advisable to linger a little longer in the valley as there is so much more to do and see.
