The website www.getawayafrica.com was already registered in March 2000 while working in conjunction with an Australian operator called Getaway Australia. The Closed Corporation in South Africa was formed in 2002. On the 18th of March 2005 we launched our revised web site.

Visit any of our accommodation pages on our web site (please be aware that if you run on Internet Explorer 5, you might not be able to view this page properly) and you will see the very professional lay-out for each location.

1) You can provide us as much information about your accommodation as you want - there is no limitation on content.

2) You can display a panorama photo at the top and a maximum of 4 click-able thumbnails that open up to bigger photos on the right of the panorama. Inside the content we can add more photographs if you wish so. We offer the free service to do all editing of your photos.

You might wonder what happens if your name starts with 'Z'? Our web site is not a static web page, but dynamic. That means the site is actually a 'live' database that provide information to the client according to their request. If they for example click on Cape Town Accommodation in the mid-range series, no other hotel in the country will appear and no hotel that is categorised as luxury or superior.

Furthermore we allow only 10 establishments per suburb/town (irrespective of budget level) and all of these will be appearing on only 1 page per suburb/town on our web site.

3) The opportunity to enhance your position by making use of the "Featured Listings'. If you click for example again on Hotels and Lodges on the Home Page, you will see there are 3 featured listings - these are always on the top. We allow maximum 1 featured listing for each suburb/town and maximum 3 for the cities of Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and PE. (All cities with more than 1 million inhabitants). These spaces are selling at R180 per month.

4) We have a Specials Page that are connected directly from each page on the whole web site which will dish up all locations running a special that is at least 10% cheaper than their normal rates. You are allowed to run specials on our web site on two different occasions per year.

5) On the home page there is a 'Red Hot Special' column. To appear on the home page in this column will cost R345 per month.

Our normal price to advertise and appear on our web site will be R 1200 excluding V.A.T per year .
Compare this cost with advertising in magazines. Compare this to printing brochures. And last but most important, compare marketing cost to the amount of rooms you must sell to cover this cost.
