Seychelles Country Information
A collection of 115 outstandingly beautiful granite and coral islands with white sandy beaches surrounded by coral reefs teeming with fish, Seychelles lies in the Indian Ocean, a few degrees south of the Equator. The archipelago comprises of the main islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue as well as inner resort islands including Saint Anne, North, Gregate, Denis, bird and Anonyme and outer islands of which Deroches Island is most popular.
Total area; 176 sq mi (456 sq km).
The archipelago consists of over 116 granitic islands, considered the oldest and hardest granite in the world. There are 45 granite based islands known as the Granitic Seychelles, two coral sand cays of Denis and Bird, 44 coral islands and 67 raised coral islands.
Climate & Best time to visit Mauritius:
Seychelles enjoys warm weather year-round, with the hottest months from December to April and the wettest from January to February, though rain showers are short.
Diving in Seychelles is great all year round, though April to May and October to November are considered the best time to visit Seychelles for diving.
Health & Entry Requirements:
A passport (valid for 6 months beyond intended stay) and a visas are required for most nationalities (not required for South African passport holders, if in possesion of a return ticket).
