Climate & Best time to visit Dubai Dubai has a sub-tropical, arid climate and enjoys clear blue skies throughout the year. Winter brings a few infrequent rain showers. The best time to visit Dubai is in the winter (December - March), when it is cool and pleasant. Summers (June to September) are more humid and hotter, especially in July.

Health No health certificates or special immunisations are required to enter the UAE, unless you are traveling from a health risk area.

Alcohol

Alcohol is available in licenced hotels and restaurants across the UAE, however the Emirate of Sharjah forbids alcohol. Restaurants outside hotels and clubs are not permitted to serve alcohol

Getting around the city Taxis are the easiest way to get around the city. The minimum fare is AED10. Dubai also offers exclusive ladies taxis driven by women, recognised by pink roofs, ideal for women. Dubai runs an intensive public bus transport system and the waterbus is a unique way to explore Dubai's skyline. The most popular and cheapest mode of transport these days is the Dubai metro, similar to South Africa's Gautrain, the train connects to all the major attractions and is reliably safe and comfortable.

Dress Code As a sign of respect for local customs and traditions, a conservative dress code is recommended. Clients are advised to avoid wearing revealing clothing in public areas at all times. Swimwear should be restricted to pool sides and beaches.
