Getting around the city
Taxis are the easiest way to get around the city. The minimum fare is AED10. Dubai also offers exclusive ladies taxis driven by women, recognised by pink roofs, ideal for women. Dubai runs an intensive public bus transport system and the waterbus is a unique way to explore Dubai's skyline. The most popular and cheapest mode of transport these days is the dubai metro, similar to South Africa's Gautrain, the train connects to all the major attractions and is reliably safe and comfortable.
As a sign of respect for local customs and traditions, a conservative dress code is reccommended. Clients are advised to avoid wearing revealing clothing in public areas at all times. Swimwear should be restricted to poolsides and beaches.
