Namibia Tourism during Covid-19 (21 Nov 20)

Looking to travel to Namibia in 2020? While the Covid-19 pandemic has cancelled travel plans for most of us, there is a light at the end of the tunnel as restrictions have been considerably laxer since the lock-downs started earlier in 2020 and Namibia Tourism is returning.

The two major airports in Windhoek and Walvis Bay has opened for tourism and a select few border posts are opened for travelers arriving by road.

The below information are to be used as guideline only. Please contact the relevant authorities for the most up-to-date information on Namibian entry requirements.

Below are the entry requirements for Namibia Tourism (last updated 21 November 2020):

Persons entering Namibia for tourism purposes:

  • May only enter Namibia through the Hosea Kutako International Airport and Walvis Bay Airport
  • May only use the land border posts of Ariamsvlei, Noordoewer and Katima Mulilo and any other as may be announced from time to time.
  • Must provide a negative SARS CoV2 PCR test not older than 72 hours from time the specimen was collected to time of boarding a plane to Namibia in order to be allowed entry into Namibia. (NB: Printed copy in English – mandatory)
  • All tourists who arrive in Namibia with a negative PCR test result that is not older than 72 hours from as accredited lab in country of departure, will be permitted to proceed to the booked destination and continue with the holiday itinerary in the country

Upon arrival, guests must have the following documentation at hand at all times:

  • Completed Health Questionnaire
  • Completed Surveillance Form
  • Negative SARS-COV-2 PCR Test Result (not older than 72 hours, in English and a printed copy in hand)
  • Copy of confirmed itinerary (will be supplied by SoA/WAT/AE)

We suggest that you book a Meet & Greet, especially at the moment – this service can be offered at Hosea Kutako International Airport or at your first accommodation in Windhoek.

Alternatively, should the clients have some free time; we offer a free meet & greet service at our office during office hours. We’ve set up a very nice room, especially for this purpose so that your customers can immediately feel welcome. Of course there is also fresh coffee..:-)..It is always good when we can get to know the customers personally whilst making sure they start their adventure with valuable travel tips.
