DAY 1: Victoria Falls (L/D) Today is spent relaxing or participating in a myriad of Optional Excursions. AT 1700 metres wide and around 100 metres high, the Victoria Falls are one of the most memorable sights on this African safari. All year round, flights can be taken in fixed wing planes, micro lights or helicopters. Back on the ground, the falls can be seen from the Victoria Falls National Park with its many viewing points or from the Zambian side. All offer fantastic photographic opportunities. White water rafting in the Batoka Gorge is considered to be world class. Besides the excitement of the grade 5 rapids, there are the "floats", where there is time to admire the scenic cliffs and occasional wildlife on the riverbanks. Optional Excurions - Zambezi National Park, elephant back safaris, horse back safaris, crocodile ranch, boat cruises and golf at The Elephant Hills Resort, bungee jump, abseiling, Microlight, ultra light & helicopters flights & white water rafting.

Spend most of the afternoon searching for wildlife on the way to our camp within the park where we spend the evening surrounded by the sounds of the local wildlife.

DAY 3: Livingstone (Zambia)(L/D) We have one last oppertunity for some game drives before returning to the camp at Kasane and continueing to the town of Livingstone. Day 6: Chipata (B/L/D) Traveling north east on the old ‘East Road’ we reach the beautiful little campsite just 10 km before the Zambia/Malawi border. In the past, the route from Cairo to Cape Town passed through Lusaka, along which we travel today. We stop to purchase some produce and coal from the local sellers along the way.

DAYS 7 to 9: Lake Malawi (Malawi) (B / L / D) We cross into Malawi, stoping in the capital, Lilongwe, distinctively divided into the old town and the new administrative centre. We camp first at a campsite in the central Lake area, then in the northern area over the next 3 days. Spend your next few days learning the game of bao from the locals, scour the markets for a bargain or simply relax on the pristine beaches. Malawi’s clear blue fresh-water lake is great for swimming all year round. Optional Excursions - A variety of water sports, horse back riding or visit the local village and school

The truck will experience a heavier amount of traffic heading into the city. The sights and sounds of this vibrant city are bound to keep you entertained. Keep an eye out for the colourful shop-fronts with humorous ‘catch phrases’. We camp at a lovely seaside campsite.

DAY 12-14: Zanzibar (OPTIONAL) (B) Hop on the ferry to the "Spice Island,” where you have the option to spend the 3 nights on the island.
