Are you looking to tour Namibia in the comfort of your own vehicle? Following an experienced guide, this tour offers a fully guided self-drive experience in Southern Africa!

Our 11 Day Namibia Guided Self Drive Holidays offer the guests a different self-drive experience, including some elements of soft adventure. Participants drive in their own vehicle by following a guide. All vehicles are connected by 2-way radios.

You have the Option of receiving a 4x4 driving course on the first day in Windhoek. While on tour you will explore unique areas that never form part of a normal self-drive itinerary. These areas are completely available to clients who have hired a 4x4 vehicle, and to a lesser extent, to guests who choose an all-wheel-drive SUV vehicle.

Day 1 - Windhoek 50km
On arrival at Windhoek airport we meet the guide, collect your vehicle and travel the short distance to Windhoek. Enjoy the first day at leisure or explore the city.You have the option of a pre-booked off-road driving course aimed at teaching participants basic off-road driving techniques.

Day 2 - Kalahari Desert 280km
Today you travel into the largest sand mass on Earth, the Kalahari Desert with deep red sand dunes and endless grass plains dotted with acacia’s and shrubs, the only form of survival for the adapted wildlife in this region. Enjoy a nature drive in the late afternoon, in your own 4x4 vehicle.

Day 3 - Sossusvlei 360km
We travel into the Namib Desert, the oldest desert on Earth, winding down Tsaris Pass, with magnificent views of the Namib Desert plains below. We arrive at our lodge, situated at the foot of a petrified dune belt, in the later afternoon. We find ourselves on one of the dunes, with cold drink in hand and then travel back to our lodge for dinner.

Day 4 - Sossusvlei 300km
By early morning we travel into the Namib Naukluft Park just in time for sunrise over the Sossusvlei area. Driving roughly 5 kilometers through a soft riverbed that leads through a forest of age-old camelthorn acacias and leave our vehicles for walk a short distance to the Dead Vlei – it is a white clay pan surrounded by dunes and dotted with age-old camelthorn trees. We enjoy a breakfast under the trees of Sossusvlei, before traveling to the Sesriem Canyon.

Day 5 - Swakopmund 370km
Traveling to Swakopmund by gravel road we pass through two beautiful canyons and reach the red dune belt before arriving at the Atlantic Ocean and Walvis Bay. We stop at the lagoon World Heritage Site, home to the largest colony of lesser flamingoes and one of the largest colonies of flamingoes on Earth. Afterwards we proceed by a road that is flanked by the ocean and the dune belt to Swakopmund, a coastal town aptly named the playground of Namibia.

Day 6 - Swakopmund
The entire day at leisure. We have the option of participating in some of the adventurous activities on offer, including scenic flights, dolphin cruises, quad biking, parasailing and dune boarding.

Day 7 - Damaraland 330km
Leaving Swakopmund, we visit large lichen fields and the largest fur seal colony in southern Africa at Cape Cross. Moving on, we veer off onto the sandy beaches to test our off-road driving abilities and visit ship wrecks along the Skeleton Coast. We travel into Damaraland, destined for the majestic Brandberg. By afternoon we take a walk onto a part of the Brandberg Mountain, known for one of the most celebrated Bushman paintings on Earth, the rock painting of the White Lady with the opportunity to travel down a stretch of this riverbed in search of the famous desert elephant.

Day 8 - Damaraland 260km
We visit Twyfelfontein, a World Heritage Site with over 2500 engravings and rock paintings. We visit the Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes and visit a traditional Damara village to meet the indigenous inhabitants of Damaraland. On our way to our lodge we visit the Petrified Forest, home to the oldest living desert plant on Earth. On arrival at our lodge we have the option to visit the Vingerklip, a sandstone conglomerate with a height of 35 metres, situated close to our lodge.

Day 9 - Etosha National Park 500km
We travel north to the famous Etosha National Park, where we will spend the next 2 days exploring the park. Our lodge is situated on a hill with a magnificent views over the Mopane landscape, close to the park. We enjoy our first game drive experience in the park during this afternoon. Shortly before sunset we travel back to our lodge for dinner.

Day 10 - Etosha National Park 300km
We spend the entire day game viewing inside the park. The Etosha National Park. We enjoy lunch (optional) in one of the camps found within the park. Shortly before sunset we travel back to your lodge.

Day 11 - Return to Windhoek 450km
In the morning we depart and travel back to Windhoek, where our tour ends.
