Best time to visit Kruger Park
Kruger is great year-round, though many would say that the winter season is best (May to October), because the vegetation is thinner during the period, which means you have a better chance of spotting small and elusive animals like leopards.
What to Wear
Light, cotton clothing in light tones. These work best in a hot climate. Avoid white shirts as they show dirt easily and are more visible to animals.
Ladies - If you are staying at a private lodge, you can pack one smart set of clothing, but informal for the most part. We recommend packing a support bra for game drives as they sometime get a little rough
It is a good idea to pack a few long sleeved shirts and a pair of long trousers as evenings can get a bit chilly and they keep mosquitos at bay.
Winter can get chilly in the morning, especially on morning game drives. Take a lightweight waterproof jacket. Shorts and t-shirt will be most comfortable around mid day. The secret is to wear several layers that you can take off as it gets hotter.
Take a good pair of hiking shoes or trainers. Heavy duty hiking boots are not needed unless you are going on a walking safari. A pair of sandals might be good for walking around the pool and lodge.
The African Sun can be quite harsh on the skin on a very hot day. You should try and take a wide brim hat to shade your eyes and the back of your neck
