PRETORIA – CAPE TOWN

DAY 1
11h00 - Depart from Rovos Rail Train Station, Pretoria.
13h00 - Lunch is served in the dining cars. Travel the broad grassland plains of the Highveld.
16h30 - Tea in the lounge and observation cars.
19H30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Klerksdorp. Overnight on board.

DAY 2
07h00 - Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10:00
12h30 - Lunch is served and after which passengers depart on an excursion to the Big Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars.

DAY 3
07h00 - The train travels through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that
was once an enormous inland sea.
13h00 - After lunch, there is a chance for guests to disembark the train at Whitehill Siding and walk the 5km into Matjiesfontein. A member of staff will accompany the group. Disembark at Matjiesfontein for an opportunity to stroll through the historic village.
16h30 - Tea in the lounge and observation cars. About an hour after Matjiesfontein, the train arrives at the first of four tunnels on the pass.
19h30 - Dinner is served as the train climbs ±750m down the escarpment towards Worcester.

DAY 4
07h00 - Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 09:30. The train travels through the Hex River Valley.
10h00 - Arrive at the journey’s end at Cape Town station.

CAPE TOWN – PRETORIA

DAY 1
16h00 - Depart Platform 23 at Cape Town Station and proceed to Worcester.
16h30 - Tea in the lounge and observation cars.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars. The train climbs ±750m up the face of the escarpment.

DAY 2
07h00 - Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 10:00
08h00 - Disembark at Matjiesfontein for an opportunity to stroll through the historic village.
10h00 - The train travels through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea.
13h00 - Lunch is served in the dining cars
16h30 - Tea in the lounge and observation cars.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars.

DAY 3
06h00 - Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 08:30.
08h30 - Enjoy a tour of Kimberley’s Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole.
12h00 - Lunch is served in the dining cars. The train travels northeast towards the broad grassland plains of the Highveld.
16h30 - Tea in the lounge and observation cars.
19h30 - Dinner is served in the dining cars. 

DAY 4
07h00 - Breakfast is served in the dining cars until 09:30.
10h00 - Disembark at Meyerton Station (±100km south of Rovos Rail Station). An optional complimentary transfer (±90min)
from Meyerton Station to Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria is available.

All suites are spacious and offer travel in privacy, comfort and luxury, with fittings and facilities that are of the highest standard. All equipped with a writing surface, personal safe & bar fridge filled with beverages of the passengers’ choice.

The Pullman Suite (±7 sq metres)
Equipped with a comfortable sofa-seat during the day with a conversion to double/twin beds for the evening. The suite features an en-suite bathroom with shower, hair dryers and shaver plugs.

The Deluxe Suites (±10 sq metres)
Accommodates two passengers in twin/double beds with a lounge area & en-suite bathroom with shower, hair dryers and shaver plugs.

The Royal Suites (±16 sq metres)
Each Royal Suite takes up half a carriage. These spacious suites each has its own private lounge area and full bathroom with Victorian bath and separate shower, hair dryers and shaver plugs. Royal Suites can accommodate two people by either side-by-side twin or spacious double beds.
