Our Sun City Holiday Package takes you to one of South Africa's top family destinations stretched out across the gentle hills and surrounded by the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The Sun City complex is located 291km (approx. 2-3 hours' drive) from O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) and offers a unique holiday retreat with a waterpark, casino, golf course as well as many outdoor activities.
Developed by the hotel magnate Sol Kerzner as part of his Sun International group of properties, the 'Lost City', as it is known, has been at the top of the list of most South African citizens and international travellers' bucket list when visiting South Africa. To make our Sun City Holiday memorable, we recommend staying at a Sun International hotel inside the complex as this would include your access to the Valley of Waves waterpark and also cover the entrance fee to the resort. You have a choice of 4 hotels inside of Sun City, including the value for money Cabanas Hotel (3 Star), the mid-range Soho Hotel (4 Star) overlooking the golf course, the luxurious and sophisticated Cascades Hotel (5 Star) known for its waterfalls and expansive gardens and lastly the Palace of the Lost City (5 Star) which is the crown of Sun City that has accommodated countless celebrities in the past.
The Sun City Resort and Casino offers a wide range of activities as well as leisure facilities to keep visitors entertained during their stay from honeymooners to families. Couples would enjoy a sunrise hot-air balloon ride or sundowner cocktails while kids would find thrills and fun at the Valley of the Waves waterpark which includes a Roaring Lagoon, Lazy River and some thrilling waterslides.
There are also entertainment venues that host shows and concerts from time to time. Competent instructors will help you master the technique of shooting a re-curve bow. Guests are collected from the Sun City Welcome Centre. Pilanesberg Game Reserve Hot Air Balloon Safari (weather dependent) From R 6,000 pp Guests are collected early morning by a registered field guide, in an open safari vehicle. Guests will be briefed before embarking in a 1,2-metre high basket and commence on an unforgettable experience that lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour. On landing, guests will be served sparkling wine and orange juice in celebration of the flight. Guests will then be taken to a private lodge, where a full English breakfast will be enjoyed.
