Summary

8 Days / 7 Nights
Thailand

Day 1 - Arrive in Bangkok
Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be collected from the airport and transferred to your hotel. After a long flight, you will likely be tired, so this day is at your own leisure to explore or rest.

Day 2 - Royal Grand Palace and Bangkok Temples (B)
The Grand Palace is the historic royal mini-city located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It comprises dozens of buildings, courtyards, halls, temples, pagodas, gardens and even a miniature mountain. The palace was the residence of the kings of Siam from 1782 to 1925 and among the attractions are the Funeral and Coronation halls while another big draw is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, where a 45cm statue of the Gautama Buddha was carved from one piece of solid translucent jade.

Adjacent to the Grand Palace is the city’s oldest temple, Wat Pho, which is famed for the Reclining Buddha. This 43 metre-long figure is covered in gold leaf and reaches up to 15 metres at its highest point. There are also more than 1,000 images of the Lord Buddha as well as a sacred tree.

Visit the Wat Traimit temple, which is home to a 5.5-tonne solid gold Buddha with an intriguing tale to tell. The Golden Buddha is believed to be about seven centuries old and at some point it was covered in plaster to hide its true value. Over time, this was forgotten and it was only when it fell in 1954 that its true composition was discovered. To round off the tour, we call in at a local lapidary factory and showroom where you will be able to get locally made jewelry, handicrafts and silk at competitive prices.

Day 3 - Half Day Damnoen Saduak Floating Market Tour (B)
Start off your day at the world-famous floating market of ''Damnern Saduak'', which is located about 100 km southwest of Bangkok, just off the longest and straightest canal in Thailand; the Damnoen Saduak.

If you are looking to try a new experience, this is definitely for you. Thailand has countless floating markets throughout the country, many of which are within a couple of hours of the capital.

You will see thee colourfully clad merchants at these lively markets paddle along the congested canals in sturdy canoes brimming with fresh fruits and vegetables to sell to shoppers on the banks.

There is definitely a lot of chatter and activity happening and bargaining is not uncommon – but that's half of the fun! Just don't expect to get the price down more than a few baht. Apart from the fresh fruits and vegetables, you can also find flowers to everyday necessities, leaving nothing to be desired.

You will visit the lively market at its finest, early in the morning, before the large crowds arrive and the day's heat breaks. A truly exciting and fun way to immerse yourself in to the local life and go bargain hunting!

Day 4 - Travel to Phuket (B)
After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your flight onward to Phuket (flight included). On arrival in Phuket, you will be greeted by a representative and taken to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5 - Half day tour of Phuket (B)
This five-and-a-half-hour tour brings you to the top attractions around Phuket Island including the magnificent Big Buddha.

Choose from a Morning Tour which has you winding along Phuket’s southern shoreline, marvelling at white sands, lush tropical flora and the unique vibe of Patong, Karon, Kata and Rawai beaches. The photo opportunities will be particularly fantastic from two viewpoints and other stops at Wat Chalong Temple, The Big Buddha plus a cashew nut factory and the world's biggest gem store. You'll also drive through Phuket Old Town to see old Sino-Portuguese buildings.

Should you choose the Afternoon Tour, the focus is on the Phuket Old Town component as it is a Walking Tour. Stops are made at the cashew nut factory, The Big Buddha and Wat Chalong. Promthep Cape, Phuket's southern-most tip, is the last place you'll stop at where you will be mesmerised by the striking sunset (weather permitting).

Day 6 - Phi Phi Island by speedboat (B & L)
Your one-day trip begins when you board the first-class speedboat and whisk off to Maya Bay, the area made famous in 1999 by the movie “The Beach”.

Take your time to enjoy the beautiful bay surrounded by high cliffs along with heaps of other popular attractions waiting for you to explore like the Viking Cave and Monkey Bay.

At noon, you can satisfy your appetite with a Thai lunch buffet at a beachfront restaurant on Phi Phi Don. Then the afternoon session starts with heading to Bamboo Island and Ko Khai where there are plenty of activities on the powdery white sand beaches or amid the crisp, turquoise water.

After spending a whole day swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing, you will surely go back to your hotel with loads of wonderful memories and something to write home about! If this sounds like a good day for you, then what are you waiting for!

Day 7 - Phang Nga Bay Sea Canoeing Trip (B & L)
