Safari Holidays in South Africa

3 Day Kruger Treehouse Safari

Immerse yourself in the bush with our Kruger Treehouse Safari, a rustic & comfortable lodge geared to put you in close contact with the sights, sounds, and scents of the wild. As human populations grow, so indigenous, pristine habitats are vanishing, along with their associated plant and animal species. Consequently, there is an urgent need amongst nature enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the bush, affording a fleeting chance to relax and let Nature remove the everyday strains of life. We have attempted to offer Kruger National Park Safari to satisfy the need.

This fully guided Kruger Treehouse Safari departs Johannesburg city and also OR Tambo airport, offering an affordable and unique experience to travelers looking for a more intimate connection to the African bushveld. Our Kruger National Park tours in Mpumalanga are performed in 4x4 open safari vehicles as well as walking tours with an armed ranger. The Treehouse Safari from Johannesburg takes you to a Balule Nature Reserve that forms part of the Kruger National park (no fences between them). This offers tourists the opportunity to experience both the Kruger and surrounding areas in one trip.

The camp is unfenced with only non-predatory mammals roaming the area including nyala and buffalo frequently seen grazing in the surrounding Savannah. Make it a trip to remember by adding a Kruger Safari to your visit in South Africa or extend your visit by combining this tour with other regions including Victoria Falls, Cape Town, and Namibia.

Best time to visit Kruger Park

Kruger is great year-round, though many would say that the winter season is best (May to October), because the vegetation is thinner during the period, which means you have a better chance of spotting small and elusive animals like leopards.

What to Wear

Light, cotton clothing in light tones. These work best in a hot climate. Avoid white shirts as they show dirt easily and are more visible to animals.

Ladies - If you are staying at a private lodge, you can pack one smart set of clothing, but informal for the most part. We recommend packing a support bra for game drives as they sometimes get a little rough

It is a good idea to pack a few long-sleeved shirts and a pair of long trousers as evenings can get a bit chilly and they keep mosquitos at bay.

Winter can get chilly in the morning, especially on morning game drives. Take a lightweight waterproof jacket. Shorts and t-shirt will be most comfortable around mid day. The secret is to wear several layers that you can take off as it gets hotter.

Take a good pair of hiking shoes or trainers. Heavy duty hiking boots are not needed unless you are going on a walking safari. A pair of sandals might be good for walking around the pool and lodge.

The African Sun can be quite harsh on the skin on a very hot day. You should try and take a wide brim hat to shade your eyes and the back of your neck
